About
The Full Story
My name is Aurelia, but my friends call me Ella. I’m a 26-year-old independent artist based in Toronto. Wherever life has taken me, whether through the cities I've called home or the journeys I've embarked upon, painting has always been there for me. It’s my way of expressing emotion—a place where texture and colour intertwine to tell stories that words can’t capture.

Working with acrylic, oil, and watercolour, I create abstract pieces that invite viewers to step closer and discover the subtle layers beneath. My work isn’t about complexity but rather about the quiet, almost whisper-like nuances that captivate and hold you.

From a young age, painting has been my refuge—a space where I could escape and express my innermost feelings. After years spent chasing academic and corporate ambitions, I found my way back to the canvas during a time of deep burnout. This return wasn’t just a rediscovery of creativity but a reconnection with myself. My art reflects the ever-shifting emotional tides that have shaped me.

Inspired by modern, abstract, and minimalist movements, my process is deeply intuitive. Each piece emerges from an unspoken dialogue between my emotions and the materials I use. Through my art, I hope to create a space where viewers can feel the gentle pull of texture and color, inviting them to pause, reflect, and connect with the subtleties that often go unnoticed.
